Eeeeh, it was okay. Not the most creative editing in the world.

Re: Serenity music video
teh movie in three minutes, hurrah!
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

Aye, more or less. When I was envisioning the movie, I was doing so with the idea of doing it for a class project, which would be shown to the rest of the class; I didn't think that most of the people in the class had actually seen Serenity, so what I came up with was based on the idea of conveying the bare minimum of the movie (or at least some kind of coherent sequence of events). Given how fast some of the stuff ended up flashing by I don't know how successful I was; by now, I can practically tell the order of the shots without even watching the movie. :p

Eeeeh, it was okay. Not the most creative editing in the world.

Hmm, what do you mean? Too linear (Which might be a consequence of the above) or in terms of the shots chosen, or the edits were too flat, or how the video matched up with the music...?

Regardless I'll try to keep that in mind.

Shiny.

What I meant was that, as Corsair said, it was effectively the movie inside 3 minutes. I get that you were trying to convey the core ideas of the movie to ignorant audience, but I feel that you could have been a little more adventurous in doing so. You could have mixed it up a bit more, picking out important and visually appealing scenes rather than trying to fit the entire movie chronologically into the time limit. While I liked how you synced up the music pretty damn well given your self-imposed constraints, had you gone a little more outside the box you could have really matched them up in a funky way. Plus you wouldn't have run out of time and been able to include the Mal-Operative duel, the Crew's last stand against the Reavers, and the other closing (and best, IMO) scenes of the movie.

It's good, and gets double points from me because I adore anything even remotely related to the Sereniverse, but I honestly think you could have been a lot more creative rather than just presenting a summary of the movie set loosely to unrelated (but still nice) music.
