Hello everyone, well, last year I began to put online a french website about Space opera (for PC) in general but since last March, I stopped the developpment. And now, when I've some interest in flash video (I don't know why I like the feature), I put some videos from Freespace 2 mods and Stand Alone.

I know that you don't understand French, but can I have some feedback about the GUI ? For now, the interface isn't definitive and the website isn't functional. I'm preparing a v2.0 but I need time. So, could you tell me what kind of features do you want if it was an English website or whatever language ?

I see you're using Jeroen Wijering's flash video player (I am too). There's a new version with a playlist included, that might be helpful.

Overall, it's OK. It neither great (sorry;)) nor terrible. Are you using a CMS or is it hand-coded?

Hum, I didn't know there was an update version of Jeroen flash player. Thanks, I will look into it and see if it will be really usefull. The website is hand-coded, I don't like using a prebuild version because I think I could'nt personalized the whole content of the website (GUI, Administration tools, etc...). However, I never take a look into the possibility that offer me a prebuild.

Is there a problem if I host some files from scp, HLP, or whatever related to Freespace 2 SCP engine ?
like the Latest MediaVP, latest stable build, latest released mod and Stand alone (TBP, Inferno R1, Casualties of wars, ...), and some other stuff (I won't forget to credit their author/creator) ?

And what about mp3 flash player into the main page which diffuse Freespace 1 and 2 music ? There would be some probleme of property or not ? I have some ideas in mind but I need to be certain I won't go to illegal situation.

I won't go to illegal situation.

You're probably already past that line, if you've downloaded the retail discs. However, Volition won't sue you and Interplay doesn't have the money to sue you, so you'll be fine. To all your  legality questions, as long as you're not making money off of it, go for it.

Why bother hosting SCP, mod, etc. files? They're already online, just link to them.

However, if you've got a valid reason for hosting them, go ahead and host them until someone asks you to take them down.

Well, in case the main SCP hosting server crash. And well, to allow people to get files faster. More there are sources and more they get those files .
