Everything that I make always has a mis-matched color scheme. Or at the very least, a very strange color, like bright blue, or yellow. (All the stuff I make from scratch, that is)

I have this neat motorcycle that has kinda working engines that took me a day to build with instructions.

I used to make stuff like that when I was younger. You have to compromise somewhere on a limited parts selection. These days, if I don't have just the piece I need, I go off to Bricklink and get it.

Which one is it? 8838, 8422, 8417 and 8420 are the ones I can think of.

I too build Lego only following instruction. After all, why should I dismantle that giant TIE Interceptor to build other models, when I spent 2 days building it?

Are you talking about the 7181? I found that a relatively quick build for its size, maybe three or four hours. :p I still have mine built but will be scrapping it for parts soon. I have several potential uses for the 28 black 8x3 wings.
I can't find the box now, but searching on the net I found it. Mine is from the Ultimate Collector Series, but it doesn't have any silver bricks, like the boxes I found on the net... it has blue bricks instead of them.
Tomorrow I'll look for the box and tell you which model is it.

BTW, I took a lot of time to build that model because I started in on Christmas, but you know, with cousins willing to destroy your bedroom it's difficult to build something...

8420

I want to find a decent Technic car, something like a Lotus 7, but all I've found are the Ferrari racers, and that's not exactly what I had in mind.

Yes, that's the one I was referring to. It just looks silver in the pictures. Mine is sitting on one of my computers since I don't have any other place for it in my room. :p

That one is the newest and largest of the four. It looks pretty sleek and comes with a cool adjustable shock absorber, although I passed it up since I have two of the older ones.

I'm not sure what that particular car looks like, but you may find something among the older models. This site has instruction scans for almost everything older than a year or two; look under the 8000 set numbers for the Technic stuff. Of course, if it doesn't exist, just make your own. :D

Yeah, it just needs the tail thing on the bottom and the 02 and it would be a perfect rendition.
