When I entered the mission where the player is transfered to the Psamtik, I was excited, since I loked the Galeta background used while abord the Psamtik. When I exited the command briefing for the first mission abord the Psamtik, just to see the background, I was excited to see the view, in its full glory. I went back into the ready room, then left again, and saw the Bastion background. I went into the ready room, exited, and more, but nothing worked. Then I completed The Fog of War mission, and exited. There was the Galeta background again. Entered and exited again, back to the Bastion.

To summerise, I can only see the Galeta background for the first time leaving the ready room after just completing a mission. I am using FS2_Open 3.6.9 RC 7.9x (or something like that). Any suggestions or solutions.

PS: I cannot see anything in BB tags on this forum. I also cannot find the option under preferences. I am probably just being stupid, but can anyone point out the obvious to me?

As far as I know, FS2 only has two main halls: Aquitaine and Psamtik.

Conflict/Descent: FreeSpace had also two main halls, namely Galatea and Bastion mainhalls depending on the status of the campaign.


Are you playing Freespace Port? Or FS2 main campaign? You shouldn't see Galatea/Bastion mainhalls at all in FS2 campaign, and you shouldn't be seeing Psamtik mainhall in FS1 campaign...

Aquatine and Psamtik are the ships names. In FRED2, however, they are still called Galatea and Bastion, therefore, that is what I was calling them. What you are thinking of as the Psamtik is what I refer to as the Gatatea, what you are thinking of as the Aquitaine is what I referd to as the Bastion.

No active mods. So no.

Checked user options, but did not find BB Code. Already been there.

That's.... prone to confusion. Why not just say what it shows, and not what was left over as an archaic reminder of FS1?

I was kinda wondering if someone would show up with a bug like this.

I've got no idea what the cause is but a lot of people are reporting that they're finding that they're getting their allowed weapons wiped. Have you gotten that too (i.e found yourself missing weapons that you should have like the maxim and prometheus)?

I've just hit the reset button on the loadout menu, and I got the weapons back...

I used to have weapons issue, with my old pilot. I posted a few days back. I made a new pilot, and all was well.

Yea, Dark Hunter did this on his machine and I copied it; have a pilot for each mod you're using. I have one for JAD, Inferno, Derelict, Echoes, Sync, and Transcend. Freespace 2 uses different settings for each pilot so...

Well, my campaign uses Echoes because of the time period that it takes place (smack dab in the middle of..... not gonna say it)

NM, its working again. Started working after I completed the mission in between scan the Sahathans and Destroy the Knososs-the one where the player tries to lure the Sahathans but fails.

BTW: I think you guys are talking about something else entirely. Your posts are being deffered here. You seem to be entirely OT of my issue. Post if you are not.

Currently, I don;t have any weapon issues. I have noticed that the problem is fixed, and the Psamtik appears all the time now. 

Of course, no idea what will happen when I transfer back to the Aquitine.
