It's odd I live like 20 miles ish from CP and my Comcast works just fine. It rarely goes poof.
It's actually been good for the last few months, but there was no end to the trouble from about April to September last year. Something was going wrong with it every few days (either at their end or the local cable box), and their support people were usually clueless. I've had the service for six years now and this has been the general trend; it's great for about 6-8 months, then extremely dodgy for the next several months, then perfect again, and so on.

On the plus side, I found that if I argued with their CS people long enough and worked my way up to a manager, I could sometimes get a partial refund for the month's fee.
