My Capital weapons won't work with Custom objecttypes.tbl
I am trying to get a custom objecttype.tbl to work for TAP and I finaly got it to work. Now it won't let any of the capital ships ( frigates and carriers are all I have at the moment ) use the big weapons what am I missing.
There is an appointed time for everything...

Can you post a sample entry that the weapons aren't working on?

And by you say "won't let", do you mean that
- They can be added to ships in FRED but they don't fire
- They can't be added to ships in FRED
- They don't fire even if you manually specify them in ships.tbl (Does it throw an error?)
(In fact a good question is, have you run a debug build yet)


Sorry to throw all this at you, it's easier than trying to play PM tag, I just want to get an idea of what exactly you mean and have tried.

I am able to get them in Fred2 and in game however they will not use there defaults weapons I have put on them in the ship.tbl.

In Fred2 they are not listing the weapons I have and they work when I use the older Object types. Also they only use weapons that do not have the "Big Ship" Flag.

Hope this clarifies my question

have you by chance checked the table section of the fswiki? if so, then copy over a weapons.tbl entry and work off that. you just might have syntax errors.

Do these ship classes happen to have 'beams hit easily' option set to no?
