I've finally installed FS2_open and everything is working fine.. except sound. While both sound and music works, I get this really odd noise, constanly. It's like a... glitchy ticking in my soundsystem. It follows a certain set pattern.

I did NOT have this problem with the unmodified version, so my guess is that the problem has to do with OpenAL. I've tried setting it to hardware insted of software, that didn't help.

Set it to Generic Software. Don't bother with anything else. Beyond that I can only suggest upgrading sound drivers.

Since I'm using a macbook, I can't really upgrade my drivers since I don't even know what soundcard is in this comp O.o

Anyway, the problem solved itself! I got the latest version of OpenAL from their website, and now the sound works great! (I was using some guide here or some other forum to install the whole deal, it gave a direct link to an older version of OpenAL for some reason.)
