Has anyone actually played it? I've seen it advertised on several sites, including this one.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

No, but I seriously don't trust the words "free MMOG."  Ever.  You want a good space-based MMOG?  Play EVE-Online.  It's only $20US for the first month (game is free to download) and ever month after that it's $15US.

i dont trust subscription games at all. i feel dirty to submit to their insolence. 15 bucks a month to sit there clicking your mouse at eachother.
I can no longer sit back and allow communist infiltration, communist indoctrination, communist subversion, and the international communist conspiracy to sap and impurify all of our precious bodily fluids.

except it's not out yet.

And it requires a seriously extreme computer.

i think it was merely the lack of joystick support, but i could see some serious potential there. they made it absolutely clear that it wasnt the game, rather a showoff of the engine..

Pardus is quite fun, and once you get over the initial complexity its pretty much second nature.

It is completely free, although you can pay if you want.
(you get a few more 'turns' per day and access to your stat data)

Beats the tar out of EVE simply for the fact you don't *have* to pay or have to run a beast of a machine to play.
The community is far less aggravating as well :p
