I'm using Vanilla FreeSpace for my mini-campaign so no HT&L. I was going to use the Broadacia but that doesn't make sense as it breaks up to reveal the Iceni, which is both non-cannon and not relevant.

My 1st attempt at any modelling in > 12 months.
My 1st modelling anything FreeSpace in > or < 2 years
Furthest I've ever got in Max Tile texturing wise.
Appreciate any feedback.

Damn, I really miss my first few months playing & modding Freespace now I'm going through the motions again. Shame too as this form of texturing is pretty much obsolete....:sigh:

good job
some of the textures aren't the same, the rock ones, they dont merge together well...
but that is my only crit...

I like it over all. I'd need to see more view angles to give a firm opinion, but based on what's here:

I'd have to agree about the rock textures, but after looking at it a few times it starts to look pretty good. I'm not a real fan of the particular hull plating texture you've chosen, and the light tile looks a little stretched on at least one place. For vanilla FS2 though, this easily matches the Volition origionals for quality, and surpasses them in some cases. I think this one looks better than the Boadicea in most respects.

The really iffy part is the thruster exhaust ports. The nozzle part is fine, but the filler part looks out of place.

Shapewise, what are the two chimney looking doodads on top of the tower?

You certainly have a good start here - keep up the good work!
All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by.
And a laughing yarn from a merry fellow rover.
And a quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick's over.

Radar towers with the Orion radar dishes. Haven't been mapped and or anything plus the render is darker than expected so they're hard to see.
