Joshua cover (from FS2 soundtrack)
Been working on getting some songs (both mine and other people's) together for my campaign's soundtrack, and been playing around with an arrangement of Joshua, from the Freespace 2 soundtrack. This'll probably be a credits theme, since it lacks the urgency of a battle track. Any other ideas where it might go?

Re: Joshua cover (from FS2 soundtrack)
I'll listen to it tonight.

EDIT:    It sounds like it belongs somewhere but I can't figure out where. Any way, it sounds good - did you use a tracker or multichannel editor/sequencer for this?

His legacy will last until the beginning.

I would see the first part of it as an entering the mission kind of tune, The rest is a more listening to than background music, maybe. Nice work either way

That sounds pretty good.  It's a little too energetic for a "regular" mission entrance, but it would be great for a entering a mission where you know there is going to be a huge battle.

This year, both Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address occurred during the same week.  This is an ironic juxtaposition of events--one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication, while the other involves a groundhog.

Cheers for the helpful comments.

Fruity Loops Studio 4. Yes I know, I should upgrade soon.

I'm very pleased to hear that. I just happen to have one such battle in mind.

I think that the first 25 seconds sound like something that is heard in the background when pilots are in space, chattering a bit. They're preparing for battle. The atmosphere is oppressed, everyone knows that soon all hell breaks loose.
After that it sort of sounds like a battle where the odds are against you and you're not even fighting to win; you are fighting to buy some time for some other operation, an evacuation, for example.
That's my opinion. A good track, altogether.
Then, a bit off-topic. How is the campaign doing? The release will be the highlight of my summer.

Exactly. Though to me, it sounds a little to...fast(if thats the right word) to be in some pre-BOE battle scenarios, but it looks like it would be awesome in some others. Being specific is hard here, but if you want me to i'll elaborate more i will.

It also sounds like it would be awesome in that scenario as well. Given some more action in some parts, and some more urgency. But once again, it would be better in some cases, and in other cases it would be just as well given those changes.

on a side note, i read the prologue to your campaign. It looks awesome.

Re: Joshua cover (from FS2 soundtrack)
The campaign's going well, just finished mission 15 yesterday. I'd like to wrap it up soon to get everything tested, but the story's becoming more complex than I originally thought. My characters just won't behave!  :sigh: I think I'm going to need to make a Part 2.

So perhaps give it a few more months at least. I should really update the site and write some more prologue.

Slowed down the track somewhat, and haloboy100 was right...it did lend a bit more majesty to the track befitting a huge battle. I might not use it for the part when hell does break loose, but should be all right as a buildup to it.

It's definitely worthwhile to learn how to use it...I found the manual for 4 to be quite comprehensive, and pretty much taught me everything I know about how to use it.
