So I'm flying along minding my own busines when suddenly my own wingmen start firing on me! Their IFF status was still friendly but they were launching the big bombs (don't remember name) at me and blew me up

Can someone explain to me why this happened and how much beer is stored inside a Herc II, thanks.

Friendly fire is irritating, though I don't think I've had friendly bombs slam into me....  Only time I really have a big problem with it, though, is when I fixate on a target I'm running down, and take a few friendly primary weapon blasts.

Once, I decided to try out the Infyrno. After realizing how totally useless it was, due to my inability to gauge distances, I just decided to fire it head-on at a group of Nahemas. Alpha 2 had the bad luck to fly directly in front of my Herc II.

Thats the way it is in every game.  Even if you have human teammates, they're going to be stupid and try to "shoot" the enemy through you.

I was playing a mission from a mod in a nebula once (where you are escorting a capship through a nebula and the Shivans keep attacking), and a dumb Vasudan got in my peripheral vision, and between the nebula and explosions, I mistook him for a Shivan.  1.5 seconds later, he exploded right before I got the "Hold your fire" message.  I though he died a bit too easily.    (I have a nasty habit of not targeting fighters that drift in front of me while I'm shooting at another one.)

Unrelated, but since this seems to be a rant thread, Playing Raider Wars.. 1 Fracking missile disabled me!
Was trying to finish off a frigate, had a fighter behind me, thinking I can survive for a few moments of being fired on,

100% Hull drops to 50%(ish) which is understandable, but I lost Weapons and Engines in one freaking shot!

Wish my missles were that damn effective

They can be. I've disabled quite a few Nials before shooting them down.

I was playing a particularly boring mission which had turned into an ever-lasting one. I got bored and started disabling all the fighters with Akhetons, then Invulnerabl'ing them so that they didn't self-destruct later. I disabled around 20 fighters and bombers, IIRC. Pretty good, huh?

You know what's really cool? chasing a mara and see that one get hit by a stray beam (100 M in front of you)! (unscripted DIVE! moment)

and most of the time, its not the wingmen, its their commander...
