Flying Saucer Taser Drones?
I wish I wasnt lazy enough to give you this news report from the first place I read it so excuse the source, but still take a look at this.

Considering the source, I must say I would have to see this to believe it. While I am sure that many things this guy says are true, separating the truth from the speculation is quite difficult.
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Alright I found what is probably one of the original sources.  :)

"Di Zazzo's French company is also developing a mini-flying saucer like drone which could also fire Taser stun rounds on criminal suspects or rioting crowds. He expects it to be launched next year and to be sold internationally by Taser. "

 :nervous:

Btw there is a surprisingly scary amount of stuff on that site that turns out to be real once you check it out. Sure some of its stupid, course.

Quote from: Article
With 250,000 Taser stun guns in use all over the world from North America, Australia, Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, Singapore and New Zealand, to name just a few of 70 or so countries, it hardly takes a stretch of the imagination to foresee the take up of Taser's airborne drones.

Re: Flying Saucer Taser Drones?
The man is clearly deranged.

Quote
The Taser France chief said he has endured more than 50 Taser shots during tests and demonstrations of the gun.

"You cannot call it real pain," said di Zazzo. "I just found that time was infinitely long." In reality, a shot from the gun, which packs a 50,000 volt punch immobilises suspects for a few seconds.

Quote
National Front leader Le Pen, who was 79 at the time, went to inspect the gun last year because of the headlines it made when Sarkozy made his pledge as interior minister. "He did not want to try it but I took him a bit by surprise," said di Zazzo.

"He has special protection because he is a leading politician but I got round them and fired into his shoulder. He fell over but got up again..."

Interestingly enough, this signature is none of the following:
A witty remark on whatever sad state of affairs the world may or may not be in
A series of localized forum in-jokes
A clever and self-referential comment on the nature of signatures themselves.

Entertain for the moment the possibility that these are in fact real devices.

The really scary thought in my mind is that if they can be equipped with tasers, they can be equipped with... other weapons.  :shaking:
