Jump nodes

Um... mega noob question but...

When i try placing a Jump Node, nothing happens. How do i place one of those?

Same way you place any other ship. You might have a problem if you didn't upgrade to v1.2 of FS2 before installing FS2_Open though.  Did you install FSO yourself or did you use Turey's installer? The latter installs v1.2 but if you did the former and didn't patch the game then you should go to the downloads page of my FAQ and get the HotU Crack Pack.

The root_fs2.vp in there should sort out your problems.

Do you need FS2 Open for jump nodes? I use only FRED 2

That explains it. Run the update option from you Freespace.exe and it should all be cleared up.
