Why no one in their right mind would have verizon services
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Re: Why no one in their right mind would have verizon services
I was going to point out that incompetence by the company's workers is not necessarily the fault of the company (although the company is ultimately responsible).

After reading the number of fires, and Verizon's quibbling over whether there was a fire or not etc....

Nevermind that...

I will say that right now I have Verzion Wireless services. And although the service works, well, I can no longer get nearly any reception at my place of residence and they charge an arm and a leg for any additional services to 'basic cellular', no matter how insignificant they are, and it's virtually impossible to switch providers thanks to the extremely long-term contracts (not to mention one-sided).

As far as I'm concerned, this is all just an illustration of why too much power is often a bad thing.
