Render: Wayland in orbit
So this is basically the finished product. The textures are a bit funny, but nothing to get seriously upset about.
When i made the image i didn't feel like bothering with engine glows, so i say, the engines are shut off :p.

And here is the Hi-res.;)

Here is the dev. thread. It is image heavy (~370 kb in total), FYI.

Really good!:)
Questions:
[list=1]
  • What is the Wayland?
  • What programs did you use for that?

    Keep it up!
Wash: This landing's gonna get pretty interesting.
Mal: Define "interesting".
Wash: *shrug* "Oh God, oh God, we're all gonna die"?
Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

That should be spelled "Weyland" (if we are still supposed to think Aliens universe, but without the Yutani).

The Weyland is gorgeous, especially now that you've given it weapons. It brings to mind the grand steel glory of ocean going fleets (like, oh, the US Navy. ;)) without shamelessly trading on the aquatic navy look. It looks rather like it could be a carrier in the tradition of Wing Commander.

Might I recommend a texture with some small, bright white squares to simulate small windows just underneath the upper deck?
[I am not really here. This post is entirely a figment of your imagination.]

Ok, Weyland it is.:)
Right now she is somewhat larger than a Deimos and weighs in at ~900 polys, with turrets.
