Hey guys.  I've been playing freespace 2 for a good while but I've only just got into FREDing,  I just wanna know if there's an index anywhere of new ships that have been made?  I just wanna see what the community has made as yet and chuck them into my own levels .  Also, is it easy to actually put the ships in?  Just a simple copy and paste job or is there something more complicated to be done?

There is no complete list of new ships that have been made.  They are really scattered around.  HadesCombine used to have a lot, but now its down.  So www.freespacemods.net is probably your best bet.  Installing them should be pretty easy, the POF file(s) go in data/models/ (probably of a mod directory), and textures (all the PCX/DDS/JPG/TGA) go in data/maps/.  It also has to be in the tables somewhere, either pasted into ships.tbl (in data/tables/) or as a modular table (many of the mods you download will come with one of these, put them in data/tables/ as well).

Thanks for the info and the welcome!!  Started playing this again because I love Battlestar and BTRL was just too good to resist, but I'd forgot how good the normal game was!!  Hopefully be posting more and get a lil less n00bish soon!  Thanks Blowfish!
