Subspace Effect on Fighters?
Here's the goal. I want to add the subspace corridor effect onto fighters (not the jump aperture, the actual corridor you never get to fly in). Something similar to what happened in Transcend with the Transcendent and the freighter in this video.

Video

I still have no idea whether that's a graphical error or not having not played Transcend. I looked through the VP and the mission itself and found no reason for that glowy-ness to be there. If, however, it's just an amped up reflection, I would want that effect to appear outside subspace missions. Any ideas?

What do you mean? You get the subspace effect by using the proper starfield...write "subspace.pof"(I hope it's the correct name) in Background ---> Skybox model in FRED. :)

well I lokked at that video and it seem this guy has heavy graphical problems. sometimes his freitghers looks like glass and we can even see a graphical bug with thos black boxes. I played Transcend, event in the last mission I hadn't thos effects.
I don't think you can have subspace reflexions on the ships.

Whoops. Forgot to add that I wanted the effect on ships. First post has been edited to reflect this.

Couldn't I theoretically add the subspace corridor's textures to a fighter? Would it still preserve the rotation, though?

Seems to me what you want is to turn on Environment Mapping in your launcher.

well the texture used for subspace is static, it wont move if you texture a fighter with it.
I never tried environment mapping though. You should give it a try. (I'll try it too)
