I 've uploaded a ship in freespacemods.net and then i realised that the name i used (hestia) was used before. Is there any way to avoid such mistakes? A catalog or something?

Don't worry there's no law against it. It's your ship name it what you want ;D

I don't worry about law problems. Just think that some rules like avoiding allready used ship-names keeps the future less chaotic.

I know what you mean, there's no all encompassing list of every ship made. Have a look around here and FreeSpaceMods for a bit to see what names are taken. Pretty much everything greek etc is done once or twice.

       Yeah, everyone can look in wonder and amazement at all the ships people've made that they've never seen (and for some mods, maybe never will).

Thank's Akalabeth angel. As for the "running out off ideas" issue i believe that mythologies from all over the world is an endless source.
