Hiyas,

I'm kinda new here. I've been reading of posts about FS open builds but where I'm getting confused is where can i get the one i want? =p

Basically I wanna find one that doesn't have a ship limit, or just a ridiculously high limit. Really I want to just combine some mods and get into a bunch of fred silliness! Also, I've noticed I get some weird lag on a 3.6.9 build that comes with TBP (and i think the FS Open installer one) but in 3.6.10 theres no lag so yeah... and no its not a crappy system issue, its something to do with 3.6.9 itself. i notice it in the tech room and its way worse in the mission, but in 3.6.10 im always 60-120 fps (with vsync disabled) where in 3.6.9 it dips to 15fps randomly.. but I digest (blue harvest reference!)


Anyways, if someone could point me in the right direction, I would be very much grateful!

I know Inferno builds have a much higher ship and weapon limit, as to the whearabouts of one of those builds, you're gonna have to ask one of the Inferno members. Snail, or Mobius.

As for the lag on 3.6.9; when does it happen? In missions, all the time, or only in certain missions?

constantly. using the same .exe to launch TBP or any FS2 mod, i get lag from the hangar screen (or the b5 screen).  It's kind of weird cuz I can shut the game down and start it back up... usually every 3-5 times launching the game its lag free but I dont have that problem at all with the 3.6.10 build with full x16 anti aliasing and anisotropic filtering

fyi system build is

AMD 64x2 5000+ 65nm (oc'd to 3ghz)
4 gb ddr2 1066+ (running at 1ghz with factory timings)
geForce 8800gts 640mb
and im running vista 64 ultimate sp1... and no it has nothing to do with vista =p


like i said its weird, i can turn detail all the way down and all the sparklies and it still lags. its not that big of a deal cuz i can use the 3.6.10 build.

Anyways, i'll see if i can get in touch with the inferno guys and see what they have to say about the inferno build. Thanks for the response!

There's your problem, you got a GTS 640, instead of a GTS 512.  Get a Geforce G280 and you'll be fine.

Seriously, I have no idea why.  Just glad it cleared up in 3.6.10.

bah. ive had this card for about a year. i love it! yeah its not the latest and the greatest but it more than suits my needs =p although i do dream of the day for some 3 way sli.... or just a 3 way, either would work for me

Not anymore. The B5 screen is laggy for me as well, with much lower system specs.

They'll probably just point you here. That's the last Inferno build I made so unless someone has released one without me noticing I suspect it's the latest.
