The FringeSpace project is looking to have some additional voice acting
for a single mission, and potentially a second open free for all deathmatch.
These are for our closed alpha testers group. Just a couple very basic maps to
start testing some things on and give us an opportunity to tweak ship feel.
Credit will be given to those who's clips are used in any maps.
We have made some recordings already, but having a sample from someone that
may be interested in the role may make it sound that much better. So we're interested
and open to submissions. These characters may have future use in the FringeSpace
project, but for the moment they are placeholders. Any VA's are encouraged to change
the script as they see fit if it better suits the character.
We have a "sound engineer" with editing applications already, so we can accept files
in OGG, wav, pretty much whatever long as it can be of decent quality and adequately loud to hear.
First mission is an A typical go save the convoy, find the hidden stuff, get yakked at,
head home.
Cast List:Key -
Green - Available, no prior recordings
Yellow - Has been recorded, but still open to alternatives
Red - Position filled and is already awesome ^_^ thanks anyway
CT = Control (base handler for pilots, preferably female but male submissions welcome)
HO = Hiratio Octarum (male captain of a freighter convoy, late 40's, experienced and sure of himself)
BC = Bridge crewman (male assistant to Hiratio, mid 20's, unsure, frantic individual in tense sintuations)
AR = Alex(ander? is? ion?) Rory (male indie merc, late 20's, early 30's, been to the dark side of Fringe space and back again, cool headed, could be seen as jaded and sarcastic by first impressions)
PI = Various Pirates (various gender, Wise azz, out for blood, over the top, slaggers)
AL = Amanda Larkin (female recovery vessel captain, mid to late 20's, experienced for her age, not to be taken lightly, gets the job done, envisioned accent would sit somewhere between mildly sultry and no nonsense/strict)

CT - Alex, we are receiving a distress transmission close to your location.
HO - This is Captian Hiratio Octarum of the freighter convoy Agamemnon.
We are under heavy attack by Skav pirates in *static* sector. I've taken *static*. Requesting assistance from any *static* in the *static* area.
AR - (self) *sigh* looks like just another day in the Fringe.
(open) Station control, I'll check it out.
Player arrives on scene.
PI - Lookie here boys, we got us a hero coming to save these slaggers.
AR - Captain this is Alex Rory, what can I do to help?
HO - Who..? Just try to keep them off us until we can reach the jump point. My
rear two ships took the worst of their assault.
AR - Will do.
AR/PI - (pirate exchange & death)
HO - *after AR kills a pirate* Decent flying there boy.
BC - Cap'n the Artemis is reporting they've lost their tach drive!
HO - Can they get it repaired?
PI - (more pirate blabber - 'That freighter's a dead piece of scrap, go for it')
BC - No sir, they've had to seal off that whole deck.
HO - Blast! Tell Jonas to jettison all his cargo, even his "special" package, then abandon the ship.
Pilot, the Artemis is going to drop it's cargo momentarily. We'll stay long enough to recover her crew in the escape pods. If you can keep the Skavs out of our freight, I can promise you a reward for your efforts.
AR - No promises on my end captian, but I'll see what I can do. (self) Sure is a lot of these guys for just one small convoy this close to the Hub.
AR/PI - (pirate exchange/ death)
BC - Sir, Jonas says the cargo is away, they're evacuating.
HO - Good, turn about and....
PI - (something about you're not leaving alive... blah blah)
BC - Wait! incoming missile barrage on the Artemis!
AR - I can't get there in time!
Artemis blows up.
HO - Did any pods make it?
BC - N... no Sir.
BC - (bg behind HO) Dear Lord, take care of our friends....
HO - Pilot... we'll jump in 15 seconds. I understand if you prefer not to protect the cargo from these Skav bastards. We'll send a request for a recovery team once we can restore tach band communications. Hiratio out.
Remaining convoy ships leave.
AR/PI - (pirate death - that's what you get for picking on a bunch of mailmen)
AR/PI - (pirate death - Seems no matter how far I run, I can't get away from pirates)
Pirates all dead
AR - (self) I wonder what the pirates were after, perhaps I'll take a look...
AR - *scans crate of "fertilizer"* (self) Yeck... cryofrozen space turds... that can't be what the pirates wanted. Least I hope not...
AR - *scans right crate* (self) Hmm... Artificial Intelligence components... bingo! Maybe I'd better hang on to these, just in case the Skavs drop in for another round.
[Potentially another Skav raid or skip to the ship arrives.]
Recovery ship arrives.
AL - This is Commander Amanda Larkin of the the assault ship Altivity, state your business here pilot.
AR - Alex Rory, I was just protecting the cargo as requested by Captain Octarum.
AL - Mr. Rory...
AR - "Alex" please.
AL - Very well... We received the Captain's request for recovery, but he did not mention anything about an escort being attached to his convoy.
AR - I'm not part of his convoy, and I wasn't hired lady. He sent out a distress call and I responded. He said if I stayed and protected the cargo then he'd promise a reward.
AL - Ah a freelance thruster jocky then... how can we be certain that you are not part of the Skav pirates that attacked the convoy in the first place? Send over your gate access history and flight recorder data "now."
AR - Fine. Transmitting.
Several seconds silence
AL - Hmm. It all seems to be in line with your story. It would appear you assisted the Captain extensively. Although several minutes are missing from the flight recorder after the convoy made their jump. Could you explain that?
AR - Ah... my fighter's seen better days. Something I've been needing to fix. It's been several months now it's been skipping at random like that.
AL - Right. Well, there's nothing more I wish to ask and it would appear I can't "restrain" you. You'll have to take up the matter of your reward with the captain yourself. We will begin recovery operations immediately, "you" may leave.
AR - Eh ungrateful...
AL - What?
AR - Oh I said I'm grateful!
Player exits.
For the second free for all deathmatch, we will be doing the famous Fenris Arena.
If you're not familiar with it, see here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EYgMgLCsDYEWe already have a person that is literally a perfect match for the announcer, however we will
be needing a couple people that could be "the crowd' in which the announcer talks to during the fights.
We don't currently have scripted lines setup for this yet, but we will be actively looking for someone after the holidays
or into late January.
