I'm not sure I understand
Hey President Obama, the campaign is over - forget the popularity contest

Is he criticising Obama for being the same in office as he was while running for office?

This article is really weird. It keeps going all "Obama is great because he goes straight to the people instead of through the media" and then out of nowhere "stop trying to be popular, Obama, gosh." I'm so confused. x.x

I kind of like that Obama is all cool and stuff. They played clips from him filling out his NCAA bracket on ESPN on the radio, like where he was telling UNC not to let him down like they did last year. (No pressure, though. ^^)

I can see how some people might get annoyed at that, I guess. Like the people who were all pissed off when Obama made the White House dress code less formal...

But it's kind of a refreshing change. I hear "president" now and I don't think of a shadowy villain-type chracter.

I'm trying to think of if I'd still be impressed by this if he was all right-wing and stuff. I'm not sure.

Well I hope change and some kind of discretion regarding spending comes hand in hand with that when taking Obama into account.

Re: I'm not sure I understand
A quote from that article sums up my feelings fairly well.

Quote
. . .he was elected to be the smartest guy in the room, not the most popular kid in class.

I expect he'll begin to figure these things out in the next few years when he gains more political experience.
