I've done a bit of research and come across a "fuzzy text" issue, but I don't know if that's the same as mine. In my case the text has lines all around it. It looks something like |T_H_I_S|.

I changed the in-game graphics settings from HIGH to LOW but nothing changed. I tried the DWORD fixes in the registry and also maxed out Anti-Aliasing via my video card console, but both to no avail. I don't know if I'm supposed to max it out or disable it. I am using an ATI-Radeon with Windows XP.

EDIT: I got the game from GOG.

Nevermind I fixed it. I just messed with some settings in my ATI settings console. For the most part I turned things off. Sorry for making a topic about this! (I don't have the ability to delete)

No need to delete; if someone else has the same problem as you, they'll have some idea of how to fix it. And actually, if you get around to trying out FS2_Open (which I'd highly encourage), I believe there's a launcher flag that fixes this issue.
