Originally a Volition render, I turned it into an Impressionist painting. :)

Why couldn't Pablo Picasso or that French dude Serat ever make interesting Impressionist paintings like this? ;)

Thats why they don't have good artists these days.

If someone needs to do something impressionistic, they just use PsP.

Life sucks:(

Nah, I think the TRUE artists still use their own skills, not with PsP of course.

heh, I have the exact same thoughts, but pro-PSP. :p IMHO Photoshop's interface is utter crap, the program is very slow and the only functionality it has over PSP is more filter effects. Not to mention that it costs eight times as much. :p

i used both psp7 and photoshop 6 cause photoshops blur tool is complete sh*t and it doesn't seem to have a screen capture system which sucks - so between the two i manange things

also got to point out that psp7 can recognise 5 times the number of file formats photoshop can

For myself, the only reason I have Photoshop installed at all is the filter effects, which can come in handy every now and then. ;) I pretty much use PSP for everything else.

I use both.  PhotoShops burn and airbruhsing tools are execellent, and much better for texturing with :)

Other than for that, though, I prefer PSP

Ah, i dont know what your using photoshop for, but for graphical purposes you cant go wrong, as long as you know how to use it that is (no offense ment to any one by that). Also PS is more suited to Mac's which i may add PS7 is only being made for.

PS can do all sorts of cool things with clouds/difference clouds...

Apart from that, bah. ;)

Bah? Not all of us have a rendering/paint proggie with ultra-super powers, you know...
Myself, when I want to use Photoshop stuff, I use The GIMP
BTW, anyone know the difference between Photoshop Elements and Photoshop?

I basically use it for the various filter effects; the spherize one can come in handy when trying to make planets and such from 2D maps and the difference cloud one that Setekh mentioned is good for nebulas. ;) For drawing, coloring (yes, I sometimes edit an image by modifying indivudal pixels :D), texturing, and the like, PSP is far superior though.

My main criticism of PS is that it's clunky. The darn thing took ten minutes to load on the (not exactly modest) workstations at school. And then it took a few years to load up the palettes. No thank you...
