I have a simple virus, I believe someone's posted here about it before. Maybe it was Thunder or Shrike. Anyways, it's "Plan Columbia" and I think it replaces all JPEG files on my HD with  Visual Basic script files of the same name, i.e.  mypic.jpeg is changed, after a restart, to mypic.jpeg.vbs. Opening up one of the corrupted jpegs with Notepad, it's called "Plan Columbia".
Any way to fix this? Combat Flight Simulator 2 usings JPEGs for the interface graphics and a billion "not found" messages makes me mad :mad:

I've found a fortnightly format of all my drives is most effective at removing virii.

:D , I was thinking about that. But I know I'll forget to back up SOMETHING important, and end up quite mad. Besides, other than this virus, and the usual Windows tripe, the comp's working all right.

No matter how long and hard you think about it, you'll always forget at least one thing and then remember about it when the format hits 10%.

There may be a counter-measure for it... try going to the anti-virus sites for solutions.

Go here ! They have the best  anti-viruses on the net. They have a trial version for which you can get a link for by signing up on their mailing list.
