Hi friends from freespace,
i have played this game for thousand times, and since the fscp become available i have been playing with it. However, eveyr time ia made a new pc i must install everything again and some new problems starts happening.
I´m with a freshnew installation using the tureys installer, however when playing everytime i target a object (friendly, hostile, or non aligned) the target box and gun point appear in a space that does not contain the object itself. If i´m using missiles, the triangular go to empty target and cross it, working without to many problems, except by the bizarre appearance. However, when trying to hit with the ships lasers the gun target doesn´t represents the true aim of the ship and i need to be wondering where is the true location.
I believe that it should be easier if i could post a printscreen of the gameplay, however i don´t how to do it using freespace.

Just hit the Print screen button. A screenshot will be deposited in the screenshots directory of your FS2 folder. You should convert them to jpg format before posting them, however.

Now, which version of FS2Open are you using? this problem sounds like an issue that was present in 3.6.9 when widescreen displays were used. This has been corrected a loooong time ago. When did you install it? Until a few days ago, Turey's installer delivered some out-of-date builds; This has been corrected.

Ahn... i have tried making the screenshots, however it only screened scrambled images. It is weird cause i was seeing everything perfect when i did the printscreen.
However, you may have solved the problem. I´m using the 3.6.9 in a widescreen lcd tv as monitor. My installation was done one month ago, however i have tried to update with turey´s installer with nothing more to add. Where a i can find the new installer?

At the same place as the old installer, http://www.fsoinstaller.com/ . You should set it to install the mediavps and FS2Open 3.6.10. The old installer gave you the option to download 3.6.10 as well, but that version is now almost 2 years old. Downloading 3.6.10 manually from this thread solves the problem (and a few others) as well.
