Been digging up 80s music lately

I have an extraordinarily hazy recollection (I will not go to reasons why, smartest of you can probably guess) of a catchy song, 80s pop type of song with a female vocalist, refrain sounded to me like "...Cause one way or the other dear I'll make you understand..."

"the other" could have also been "another".

By the way, it is definately not the Blondie's song, and for the Finnish forumites it isn't Hanna Pakarinen's song either.

So, any leads?
