"Memories of the Great War" Open-Beta to 3.6.10 update
I have recently decieded to go through my "Memories of the Great"-campaigns (Rain On Ribos 4/Hellgate Ikeya/The Light Of Antares) again... the result was not good...
Appearently little things have changed since the original release but those little things do make a difference...

Anyway I decied to update stuff - most basic stuff is done and now I hand it to the Community to spot further bugs or obvious problems:

Issues fixed recently:
- compability with FS1 main campaign restored
- all medical ships now have the matching class in the tables (in response to FS-Port verison 3.1.1)
- now includes a patched-up HTL Karnak (missing fighter bays and missing docking points)
- fixed balancing of RoR_13
- new loading screens
- Mediavp 3.6.10 Shivan weaponary used
- Command Persona fixed in HGI and LoA
- HG_END camera adjusted
- added Fenris/Leviathan and Faustus namplates
- Theta will no longer collide with Luxor Station in LoA_02

Issues known but not fixed yet:

"As you sought to steal a kingdom for yourself, so must you do again, a thousand times over. For a theft, a true theft, must be practiced to be earned." - The terms of Nyrissa's curse, Pathfinder: Kingmaker

==================

"I am Curiosity, and I've always wondered what would become of you, here at the end of the world." - The Guide/The Curious Other, Othercide

"When you work with water, you have to know and respect it. When you labour to subdue it, you have to understand that one day it may rise up and turn all your labours into nothing. For what is water, which seeks to make all things level, which has no taste or colour of its own, but a liquid form of Nothing?" - Graham Swift, Waterland

Re: "Memories of the Great War" Open-Beta to 3.6.10 update
I am currently playing through Hellgate Ikeya; will post anything as I encounter it. I would wait until I'm done with the campaign, but I figured I'd let you know somebody is at least playing through them. I'll finish a few more missions tonight, but I'm working this weekend.

HGI - Mission where you protect the Zod transports; If even one is destroyed, the mission doesn't end until you jump out. You are then reprimanded for letting all the Zods and the Galatea be destroyed.

I can't think of any specific examples, but some of the briefings and messages have a few quirks in them. Nothing to big, but a few things might need to be polished up if you ever plan to have the campaigns voice acted (it would be awesome). There are run on sentences here and there, a few words spelled wrong, and one "turrent". A few of the briefing paragraphs just read a little "awkwardly". Most of it is grammatically correct, but doesn't sound right to my native English ears. I wouldn't even mention it if the FREDing wasn't done so well, though.

Example:

Quote

Admiral Ross is relying on your skills as escort pilots to locate that mysterious entry point.  Two wings will be assigned to guard each cruiser.
The cruiser will conduct a long range scanner sweep of the system.  If a Shivan entry point is out there we will find it.

This is the first stage of a briefing, and it assumes I already know that the plan (presumably) is to fan out several cruisers with fighter escort looking for Shivans. I might've said:

Admiral Ross is relying on your skills as escort pilots to locate the mysterious Shivan entry point. Several Fenris and Leviathan class cruisers from our escort fleet will be deployed to conduct long range scanner sweeps of the system. Two wings of fighters will be assigned to each cruiser to ensure their safety in this operation. If a Shivan entry point exists out there, we will find it.

It just flows a bit better, and lets the player know the plan.

Don't kill me for revising the writing... :nervous:

RoR -

Mission 3 - I love the second two missions The Familiar. The only thing I could find wrong with them was that when you're protecting the docked Taranis, the Taranis fires its turrets in self defense. This makes the mission a bit easier, I'm sure, but the Taranis was disarmed by the Galatea fighters in Ikeya.

LoA - To be played later.
