stray triangles and lines
First off I have to say that it is great to see you have ported this game to Linux. I use it on my netbook and now I can bring this classic back!

So, I just installed this and everything seems to work fine although Im getting some artifacts on the screen and I'm wondering if this is something you've seen before. I've attach a screenshot for you to see what I mean.  Do you think my vp files are corrupt or is it because of my weak graphics card.

Thanks for giving it look.

Intel GPU? If so, I'm afraid nothing can be done (except wait for Intel to fix the driver..)

Re: stray triangles and lines
Yep, that looks a lot like a driver problem. I had those myself (on Windows, and with a Radeon card), using the -no_set_gamma commandline option fixed it.

Side note: When reporting problems such as this, please tell us what hardware you are using.

Yeah, you are right.  I have a Intel Corporation Mobile 945GME Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03).

The -no_set_gamma option didn't help so I'll continue playing with the display options to see if anything helps.

Thx for the quick response.

I weep for you :(

On a related note, I wish the crumminess of Intel GPU's was more well-known.
