"The Plan" *spoilers*
It was pretty good as usual, although I was kind of expecting "The Plan" to be more grandeous than just some random sabotage ops against Galactica.

It seemed kind of telling that their operatives for the most part failed. It is pretty clear that most of them didn't want to do it after living with the colonials for an extended period of time. If they had done their research earlier, would they have have had this epiphany earlier and not tyr to commit genocide?
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

I, ah.

I thought it sucked. Jane Espenson should not write for Galactica.

I miss the days when the Cylons were a threat. Not an old man ranting about how all his minions were foiled by the power of love.

The opening sequence was pretty cool. Loved the music. But it was a clip show that, in many ways, cheapened the existing story.

And the effects have just not been the same since Zoic left. What happened to documentary-style?

God. Argh. Just thinking about the ending, the implications, fills me with rage.

Spoiler:
The holocaust, the destruction of man, the Cylon plan, every hardship and twist we went through alongside those characters...a child's temper tantrum because his parents didn't love him? Really? Really?

Indeed. It felt pretty random to me.

Re: "The Plan" *spoilers*
I tend to find with TV programs, over-analysis kills, start trying to explain too much and the whole things collapses like an over-cooked souffle, that's why most TV series spin-offs and follow-ups never, or at least very rarely, live up to the originals.

Take Babylon 5, in a way, I'm glad the Lost Tales seems to have ground to a halt, part of what made it appealing was the fact that, even today, people can discuss things like Kosh's motivations etc without having the producer lay them all out on a plate for you, that kind of mystery maintains interest.

It was... okay.

It had some really great moments, like one of the Simons making a family for himself. But it had some pretty dodgy moments, too; specifically the complete lack of Mary McDonnell. Seriously, what the hell?
