Making Time-Lapses

Well, I had a free day yesterday, a webcam, VLC and what appeared to be icicles forming, so I got to it, and made this:

Images were taken about every 40 seconds, played back at 12.5 FPS, works out at about 500x speed.
I hope to do more of these in the future

Anyway, one of the larger icicles fell off today, I've managed to salvage a large section of it, about a foot long, 2 inch diameter, so I've put it in a container, and I'm time-lapsing it melting.

I'd like to do a fire, but I doubt I'll be able to do it any time soon.
