Hello,

i have a question about laser/beam-weapons.

I have a laser/beam weapon that works fine with FSO 3.6.9 the beam is visible (All works fine).
If i start FSO 3.6.10 the beam is no longer visible (don't know if the rest of the weapon is functional).  :(

What must i change that this weapons are working  (downloaded some from the net but the problem is still the same)

With kind regards

Askahain

Which is it, a laser or a beam? They're two fundamentally different weapon types.

Also, post the table entry for it.

Ok, here are some screenshots of the effect and the table entry

1. Version 3.6.9

2. Version 3.6.10 & 3.6.11-20091201_r5692

I tested the table setup and it works. The problem could be with the graphics files (for one reason or another). Please try the effect with some other graphics.

Ok,

i try it with other graphics ... same Effect
i try it with graphics from the mediavp VP ... same effect

Wenn i delete the "beam" flag the @Laser part worked (I see the shots), i i activate the beam flag again i see nothing

Can you tell me what graphics(formats) do you use for the entrys ?

Here are a list of my tested graphics (without the @Laser Graphics)

Hmm... You said you were not sure if the beam worked at all - no firing sounds, nothing? I tried it in debug build and forced the weapon via debug keys.

You could try setting the beam type to some other than 1, say 2 or 4 and see if that helps.

Create empty text (ASCII) file into the main data directory of the FreeSpace Open. Then run debug build (as if you were trying to load the missions with the said weapon). Start one mission (if you get that far) and quit. After quitting the game go back to the main data directory and locate 'fs2_open.log' file. Compress the file and post/upload it somewhere so it can be viewed.
