Now, once they finish testing the beta (over the summer) and release it, all you holdouts that have extra change can switch your OS to something that's not 10 years old.  :D

It seems a little soon to be releasing a service pack. What does it do/add/change, anyway?

I don't know, but it will contain ~150 critical updates, supposedly.

I feel it's better to release a SP this fast, it really shows they are working to improve the OS.
After this is done I'll order one ^^

the only problems I've had with 7 have been driver related, same as vista.

maybe they caught on that the rule of getting windows is to wait for the first service pack and then get it.

maybe we need to wait for the 2nd service pack now

I love how "exclusive screenshots" of a simple installation dialog somehow constitute a big deal.

Nope.  Windows 7 = Windows Vista SP3.  That makes this SP4 for Vista, it's bound to be pretty good.

im only holding out until the crackers rape the copy protection (more than it has been already). the os is just way too expensive for your typical unemployed bum.

the vista cracking method works still, the oem boot bios via grldr, and the oem cd key = WGA proof crack.

if only my internet connection didnt suck then i could download the 4 gig iso in a timely manor without getting billed for extra bandwidth usage.

The muTorrent beta has a setting that prevents that from happening (stop with uploading and downloading one muTorrent has used * bandwith.)

(But then, it will still take a while, off-course)
