Nice job on the FSO, never this this game die guys it is one of a kind.

I have done research on motherboards seems Asus is good  I just am wondering AMD or intel I am not going to over clock so I do not need a board for that. The DVR part I have down mediaportal will be my DVR software I need at least a 2.2 duel core for HDTV recording. I think FSO will be fine. I want a combo so to speak for FSO and the DVR. Is SATA drives usable with FSO? I still use EIDE,  my old system is just EIDE.

the case I have is here

FSO doesn't give a **** about how your drives are connected to the rest of your system. If the OS can see them, FSO can use them. Simple as that.

The only things you need for full FSO enjoyment are:
  • A CPU running at 1.5 or more GHz (Number of CPU cores is irrelevant, as FSO will only use one)
  • A GPU that is OpenGL 2/Shader Model 3 capable
  • At least a Gigabyte of RAM
Everything else is pretty much irrelevant.

well it does make some use of multiple cores, just not a lot, there are half a dozen threads, but the main thread handles like 95% of the game, so, yeah I don't really have a point do I.
Bobboau, bringing you products that work... in theory
