To the Crew Working on Freespace FOREVER
Dear FS Forever Crew:

    First things first:  did you obtain the source code for Freespace, Freespace 2, and/or FRED or are you just starting from scratch (I find that very difficult to do.)?
    I read some of the threads here and it sounds promising.  I want to make a suggestion to the crew and the FS members here.  I was interested in seeing in-game cinematics in Freespace, kind like those in Homeworld.
    Idea for making in-game cinematics:  In-game cinematics in Homeworld are included in the game's mission file.  What they are is a simulated environment where a textual command in the mission is triggered to pause the game and focus on a specific ship or object.  In other cinematics, a moving ship is focused.  The ship is moved by waypoints and the player's screen will move with the ship as it moves.  If you have Homeworld:Cataclysm, you can see that type of in-game cinematic at the beginning of mission 1 and many other missions.  (The two Taidaan interceptors moving through the asteroid field in the in-game cinematics of mission 1 in HW:CT is just too cool and must be integrated into Freespace.)
