Hello guys, got a small problem here, I simply can't run FSO and I'm not really sure where to problem is. In general when I start it the exe runs in the Task manager but the game doesn't actually start. There is no error code, and i can't alt+tab it.. :( .

Concerning the installation, i think i got every thing right, I installed my original Freespace 2 + movies, (which is in German may be theres the problem..?) ran the installer "FreeSpace-OpenInstaller" and selected everything... . Well that did not work so i tried using an up to date build (the installer used 3_6_10 and I tried 3_6_12 the INF and the "normal" one... . Same result :(

The funny thing is that at some point the game actually started, it stared after i closed a diffrent game showed me the video and i could actually play (had all the effects disabled so it was pure FS2). But i can't reproduce the start. doesn't matter what options i select or if i start a diffrent game/close it.

It seems like the actually start of the game was just delayed by 1-2 hours 0o.

Anyway I got absolutely no clue where the problem is and I can't seem to find help in the guides :(

My Hardware is an AMD Phenom 2 with an 4870 ATI Windows 7 x64 (yes i used C:\Games\Freespace2) open AL is installed, and I also tried Opengl/Direct 3d...

Would be glad if someone could help me.

BTW when I start the game via a "D" exe it sends out an error:

---------------------------

In case that helps... (its from the fs2_open_3_6_12d_INF.exe)

Oh and i just tried it without a Firewall in case that does matter...

hmm I just reproduced the launch, it seems like there is a huge time delay between hitting the run button and the actual start of the game.

Since I had all features on this time i got an error code.... :

Error: mv_exp-sct.tbm(line 971:
Error: Missing required token: [#End]. Found [$On Weapon Delete:]  instead.

File: PARSELO.CPP
Line: 670

Call stack:
------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------

hmm I tried again and again, i can't seem to reproduce the start -.-

First error is caused by a corrupted multi vp. Delete the multi-missions and multi-voice.vp files.

Second error is caused by using the wrong build. Use 3.6.12 FINAL

Just wanted to say thank you, it worked, strange that you have to delete a game file to solve problems but it did fix it.

btw the exe/launcher wasn't outdated so it was really just the 2 files...

Thanks :)
