Keepers of Hell - unable to complete -RESOLVED-
I'm absolutely loving Blue Planet!

Quote
EDIT: Resolved. Be sure to completely remove the Ravana beams - all of them.

Everything has been running well so far, except for one wall that I have smacked into.

I am unable to complete the mission "Keepers of Hell". Even though the directives say to "Jump out at Node", I try to jump but keep getting the message "subspace drive aborted" and "Cannot warp out at this time". The only way to get out of this mission is to abort.

So...Help?!?

I am using:
mediavps_3612
fs2_open_3_6_12r_INF
BluePlanet Director's cut - it was installed after 8/26, after the latest update.
New Pilot - yes, I create a new pilot for every campaign

With the debug program I am getting this message in regards to the jump issue:

Any tips to fix this would be awesome. Thanks!

Uh-oh.  :shaking:

Please post your FreeSpace 2 open log file, called fs2_open.log, located in FreeSpace2\data\.

Additionally, this may be a dumb question, but...did the Keeper make it out through the node? Did you get a popup saying 'Objective Complete?'

You did fly into the node before trying to jump out, yes?

Re: Keepers of Hell - unable to complete
Keeper has made it out, and I tell my crew (well, my character does) to follow him out. That's when I get the directive to jump out there.  If you look at my image, I am in the node, and have tried this both inside and outside with the same results.

I'll post my log in a minute.

Good god.

Okay, there's a bug in the mission which has apparently gone undetected up until now. You MUST destroy all the Ravana forward beams for your jump drive to unlock. You can pass the mission without doing so if for some reason the Ravanas do not kill the Keeper and are destroyed without all their for'ard beams being taken out, but you'll never be able to leave.

Take out those forward beams and you'll be okay.

Dammit, I really hoped we didn't have to patch AoA again.

Re: Keepers of Hell - unable to complete
Got some...odd...good news.

I accidentally deleted the log when I was about to post it, so I redid the mission...and used cheat codes to get it over with.

I completed all objectives (which I had been doing, interestingly enough).

When the main ship jumped out, I went to the jump node to try jumping out again.

...it worked.

Maybe clearing out the log and playing it in debug mode worked.

Well, consider this resolved...in a weird way...   :wtf:

Re: Keepers of Hell - unable to complete
No, disabling the Ravana beams worked. As GB explained, there's a bug in the mission where, if you don't destroy those beams, the jump drive on your ship doesn't get reenabled.

Heh, well that's what I've been doing too. That is one tough mission to complete without doing that objective.  :)

Oh and I lowered my difficulty from Insane to Very Easy. (trying to remember what I did differently)
-Edit: And destroyed every beam on the Ravanas, not just the forward ones. (another thing done differently)

I'm just happy that this didn't turn into a huge problem for you guys.

If there's one thing I've learned from AoA, it's that all your problems can be solved by disabling Ravana beams.  :D
