You should be able to do a much better job if you went for more of a 'classic space' or 'Lego Star Wars' scale, instead of true minifig scale. I'd want to try it in physical form, though.

It's packed solid with slope bricks, of course it's expensive.

I think you're using the wrong hinges for the wings. The ones you have now don't stand a chance of holding up those massive hunks of lego. I think you'll need the notched, locky hinges, and lots of them. Or you could use technic pieces that don't bend. Of course, that only matters if you're planning to build the thing.

Otherwise, hot damn. They myrmidon's a tough fighter to do in lego.
