BSG-style Hyperspacing since BTRL?
How much has Battlestar Galactica-style Hyperspacing on the FS engine changed since Beyond the Red Line so long ago?

I've been recently fiddling around with what was made possible in BTRL, trying to get it working efficiently, and I don't seem to be having a lot of luck. So I'm hoping this style of hyperspacing has improved since BTRL. Right now, here's the problems faced:

-Never get to hear hostile or allied ships warping out
-Never get to hear the player's ship warping out
-Rare that you get to see the animations for hyperspace when a ship arrives or disappears

Deus Ex Machina: Interlude featured BSG jumps on a few occasions.

I shall answer the third question with a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k22AGe5tWTA - Look around the 25-second mark. That's all unaltered in-game footage. As for the stuff about sound, I don't recall having encountered any problems. Early on though, there was a rather serious bug which prevented BSG-style jumps from working much of the time, but that has since been fixed. So that may have been the cause of some of your problems.

Re: BSG-style Hyperspacing since BTRL?
What I'm seeing around the 25-second mark is exactly what I've been trying to get working. There is much visible improvement since BTRL.  It's clear the code for it has been refined too.

What would I have to update as far as BTRL's code goes to make hyperspace jumps run more efficiently? I'm also curious as to what needs to differ when altering values for warships.

I never get tired of that trailer.
