They are? I thought it was all deuterium fluoride and similar stuff. I've usually heard of krypton and argon being used in gas lasers.

I've heard of a few that were working on it, as a less-hazardous alternative. I have no idea where it went.

The Alliance mourns the loss of the GTC Monitor. Thousands of courageous officers and crew sacrificed their lives for the GTVA. We as a squadron must ask ourselves what could have been done to avert this tragedy.

There are, in fact, thousands aboard a Cruiser.

The Monitor is a corvette.

There's actually an inconsistency here anyway, it's stated as dozens in FS1 (Orff) but thousands in FS2 (as above). I'm more inclined to go with thousands.

The Orff was a skeleton crewed nav buoy with guns for all intents and purposes.

Doesn't take anywhere near a full complement to crew that.

Oh right. I knew it was a corvette because we mentioned this on IRC multiple times. Anyway, I took it that the Orff was skeleton-crewed and had all non-essentials evacuated because of its current status.  The Fortune, however, is battle-ready at the time of the mission.
