Of ship-maneuver and fire-beam
I have a ship.
It has beam cannons.
I want it to fire its beam (spinal mount, type-4 beam) and have it turn so it basically slashes a line along a target in a very controlled fashion.

So, I fire-beam the beam so that its well, beaming, then and I have turn via ship-maneuver a second or two later.

However, when I have it rotate via ship-maneuvre (specifically, just the ship-rot-maneuver part of it), it just stops firing its beam...but ship-lat-maneuver doesn't stop the beam though (!)

It's not an issue with the beam turret's FoV. It's set at 360 and it still cuts off the moment it starts to rotate. :(

Is this even possible to do?

EDIT: Hmmm...it doesn't seem to cut out when spinning on its side...investigating further

Re: Of ship-maneuver and fire-beam
I think it has to do with it losing sight of the target you have to specify in the SEXP parameter. Rolling on its side doesn't necessarily make it lose sight of the target.

...What would fix this is to have the fire-beam SEXP not require a target and just fire.
