[Solved] Crash after first Vishnan contact.
Avast fellas, first of all sorry to be one of "those" people who just signs up for help. I doubt my situation is unique but I've been looking over forums for quite a while with no luck.

In the first Blue Planet, After Bei's personal log after mission 14 (?), where you first board the Vishnan ship, hitting the Accept button will crash the game with no error message (Other than a "Freespace has stopped working" message from Windows.) The debug mode log file is attached, I can't make sense of much of it, but it does reference a non-existant file at the very bottom, I'll paste the last line here for reference:

Code: [Select]
Int3(): From c:\temp\fs2_final_export\code\missionui\missionshipchoice.cpp at line 2732
My C:\temp\ folder is empty, and I installed FS2 open to my other internal HDD to I:\Games\Freespace 2\, so c:\temp\ seems to be a strange folder for it to be accessing, I:\temp\ doesn't exist, just in case that's relevant.

I used Turey's installer to do a "Absolutely Everything" (Or something to that effect) install and my Media VPs version is 3.6.12.
I'm running Windows 7, Intel Core 2 @ 1.86ghz, 2gb of ram, and an nVidia 9800GT, old stuff, but has been running things perfectly thus far.

Thanks a bundle for any help! Lemme know if you need more info.

That file path you're getting is from the computer that built the FSO code, not your own computer.

Easy fix, though, go into the launcher's gameplay tab and enable 'Use 3D Models for Ship Selection' and the same for weapon selection.

Legend! Knew it'd be something easy; now I only just wished I swallowed my pride and asked an hour ago, haha. Thanks a bundle for the crazy-fast reply!
