Well, there's nothing to think until there's reason to believe it's genuine, and frankly I think it's obvious that it's a very real possibility that it's not.

Doesn't sound true. It could be someone putting that out there in an attempt to discredit the organization.

Also, it's not even taken off the presses of the New Statesmen, it's taken off of one of it's staff's blogs.

Why? I don't see the sense that would make. Could you elaborate, please? :)

Re: WikiLeaks Threatens Its Own Leakers With $20 Million Penalty
internet sites do this ALL the time.  it's a cash grab.  wikileaks is no different.  if you're ever really bored one day, read the terms of service of sites like facebook and youtube, etc.  i don't know if this is true anymore, but facebook used to lay claim to every photo you uploaded.

sure it's got a snowball's chance of actually working, but it's still non-zero, and he risks nothing by just throwing that claim in there.

again, IF this is legitimate.  and you guys make good points for why it wouldn't be also.

Are you comparing Wikileaks to Facebook and Youtube?

Wikileaks is a non-profit, unlike Facebook and Youtube. They have no incentive nor reason for a "cash grab" and doing so would kind of destroy the trust they have with the people that actually add purpose and content to their site.

So now it's down to whether or not you believe they're good or bad?
Does evidence count or is it down to whether or not you think they look bad?
