Control of the multinational LebowskiCorp empire means access to a globe-spanning information and financial network more powerful than most governments. And that control is up for grabs.
The Lebowski family is locked in a bitter legal and boardroom struggle. Maude Lebowski has big plans for a more socially responsible LBC. But the board's pick for the new CEO is Jeffrey Lebowski, a staunch advocate of old corporate ways and an ally of big government and big money. The only way to save LebowskiCorp from a future of tyrannical profiteering is to change the Big Lebowski's mind.
Enter the Dude.
Using unique drug compounds synthesized from experiments in the 1960s and perfected for interrogation in Vietnam, the Dude can enter the dreams, the trips, the very souls of the sleeping, where he can not only remove information but, it is rumored, inject new ideas. It's tough to motivate the Dude, sure, but Maude's not-inconsiderable charms and the promise of a new and strange kind of chemical experience might be enough.
Of course, the Dude's got problems of his own. Are the hallucinatory nihilists haunting him a manifestation of some inner guilt? Will he be able to control his own subconscious long enough to complete the mission? Who is the Stranger with the cowboy mannerisms who keeps on butting in - and is he a sign that all this is just some kind of bad trip?
He'll need the help of his team to make this happen. Security specialist Walter Sobchak is a hardass. He can get you a toe; he can get you what you need. He can certainly motivate the target. But can he control the demons of his own PTSD, or will he plunge the Dude into a world of pain? Mild-mannered chemist Donnie doesn't seem to have what it takes - physical or mentally. Will the Dude be able to keep him on his feet?
Prepare for a mind-expanding descent into layers of bowling metaphors and The Jesus, Kenny Loggins and ****ing nihilists, marijuana smoke and urine-stained rugs, Creedence and Bunny, Jacky Treehorn and objects like women, as the Dude and his friends try to find the key to changing the Big Lebowski's mind...before it changes them.
