Alright, I've recently attempted to create my first ship in accordance with FSF's shipbuilding tutorial. I had very few errors until I attempted to load the exported .dae file into PCS (version 2.1, from early 2011, says .dae is valid filetype) When i locate the file and open it, PCS behaves how you would expect, with "starting file load". Then, the title bar changes to display the name of the file, however, nothing is in the viewscreen, and all values are set to zero, textures are missing too. It is as though i opened an empty file. To test the program, i exported several .pof's from the root VP, and got the same result with those. Then I tested the same files with no fewer than 6 different builds of PCS, with the same results. Obviously I am being an idiot and forgetting to do something critical, or I have horrible luck with programs.
The files were loaded from various different locations and by builds of PCS in my documents, the Freespace 2 folder, and just outside of it. At this point, if I cannot fix this problem, I will be unable to proceed any further on my own, and this endeavour will have been a waste of many hours.
can anyone help me with this?
Attached is a copy of the .blend and .dae files just encase they are somehow the problem.
the modeling is very sloppy, so they might be just plain broken, but that still doesn't explain why retail files don't work.
edit: Updated files, it seemed that the textures did not work in the .blend file, now they do.
