Gliding and Fury AI, How to install?
I'm been looking through the forums and searching, I find threads that are just closed because it's outdated or its moved to another thread because its the updated version but that as well is closed. I just reached a Dead End and I am sick of trying to find it. I'll just ask.

I want to add Gliding to all campaigns. Gliding in my opinion should be added to all campaigns because that's a flying technique you use in space and It's very handy.

Also, the Fury AI or whatever it's called, I wanted to add to get that better feeling of a battle that's not one-sided because I always play on insane, and the enemies are just machines and they don't care if they die.

Could someone please tell me how to add these 2 things to a campaign? What file to replace and so on. Also provide with download link or a Thread that I might unbelievably have missed. I believe BP2 has gliding on the AI and Wing Commander and TPB.

Gliding can be enabled by editing the ships.tbl file found under Freespace 2/Data/Tables (or the ships.tbl file found in the .vp file of the mod you want to edit - use VP View 32 to extract it, it's available on freespacemods.net) using Notebook or some other similar program. I think you have to add "$Glide: Yes" to each of the ships in that file, and then save it (I'd make a backup of it first though). This FS Wiki entry may be of help: http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/Ships.tbl#.24Glide:

You could also try out -Joshua-'s RealFlight mods (http://www.freespacemods.net/download.php?list.46 - look about half way down the list) which add gliding, sliding and inertia, but it's been a while since I tried them out (the last time I used it was with FSO 3.6.10) and I remember him saying that they were a little bit broken.

Regarding the Fury AI, I think the solution to enabling that is extracting the relevant files from the BP2 feature pack and then using FRED to edit the campaign missions so that they will utilise it... I'm going by what General Batutta says here: http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=70683.msg1397802#msg1397802 - but that's an old topic and I'm not a FREDder.

Hopefully someone more knowledgable than me will point you in the right direction for both of these issues.

Re: Gliding and Fury AI, How to install?
Gliding has to be enabled on per-ship basis, so there's no mod out there that fits all possible mods. Unfortunately I do not know if there are any mods out there that work properly on current FSO builds and has at least all FS2 ships included. I based one of my old gliding mods on Sushi's work if I remember correctly, so he may have one. Building one from scratch for FS2 shouldn't take longer than 20 minutes though, it's just boring copy&paste after the first entry. See the wiki link lostllama posted for details how to make one yourself.

As for the AI, it was indeed included with BP 3.6.12 feature pack but that's as outdated as you get. The latest release topic is located here but it doesn't do you much good because all my mediafire download links have been dead quite a while now. People who downloaded it may still have a copy laying around in their HDDs, but I don't have any surviving copies of it. If someone still has it, there's at least one bug that needs to be fixed. An ai_profiles.tbl flag is named incorrectly and as such doesn't work (Spoon knows which one). Of course, there has been a bunch of flags introduced in newer 3.6.13 builds that aren't in it, so someone may want to update it beyond fixing that one bug if they feel like doing so.
