Meaning "google search <the name of your graphics card> +drivers"?
I will also assume that, since I read this thread www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=65628.0
and clicked on the SSE2 wikipedia link and found out that the Intel Core 2 is a CPU that supports SSE2 and I have an Intel Core 2, then I should get the SSE2 version and not the plain old SSE version. Because that might have something to do with it.
Furthermore, I'd like to know beforehand exactly what I should provide screenshots of in case the problem continues.

On the right side, there's a drop-down where you can select a driver.

As for screenshots, you said you had weird graphical stuff happening. That's what we need screenshots of.

That didn't happen all of the time.

That weird graphical stuff only happened when switching screens (aka clicking on anything on the main menu, etc.)

and it occurred for like a split second during the switching process.

EDIT: I didn't know you were German. That's pretty cool.

It is possible that you had antialiasing on in your driver settings. Weird things happened to me when I had driver-forced antialiasing on my Radeon.

Also, as I posted on another board, SSE2 builds weirdly make things worse. Regular builds do not.
