Re: Dear GOP; Please pick this guy...
Remember folks, we had a president who talked this way for 8 YEARS

EDIT: Oh, let's not forget the everlasting Quayle-isms from one of our former vice presidents.

Quote from: Dan Quayle
"The Holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history. I mean in this century's history. But we all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century."

I saw that, I thought that was hilarious; from the first words he said all I heard was "Crap crap crap what?". He started shifting around and it looked like he was trying to pass it off as some sort of dramatic thinking lol.

Re: Dear GOP; Please pick this guy...
Sadly the damage it would cause to elect someone as, unrefined as Rick Perry would be a price too high for the original fun of having such a stumbling leader. Sadly we'll have to take the GOP and the presidential elections a little more serious because of the ultimate effect that could be caused by a bad president will affect the whole world.

I'm going to have to stick with Ron Paul, even if you disagree with some of his points, at least he won't enforce those from the federal level, meaning your state won't be forced to do something. Nonetheless for real political advise I'm not the right person, obviously. ;)

By the way, here's Herman Cain with a similar 'oops' moment:

Perhaps he was just really tired from tons of interviews, I can imagine that..

The weakness the GOP keeps showing in front-line candidates in foreign policy is terrifying.  What's hilarious is that, for all his other strange ideas, Ron Paul is probably the strongest Republican in the Presidential run on foreign policy issues.

It's a strange world we live in when someone with as little knowledge as Cain can be considered a viable candidate to eventually run what remains the militarily most powerful country on the planet.

TBH I think the populace is looking for the candidate that stands the best chance of fixing the economy first and foremost, foreign policy isn't really the priority.  As a wise, squinty eyed man once said, "Its the economy stupid!"

I'm personally of the opinion that anyone who volunteers to run for public office should be immediately banned from doing so.

Hmm. . . public office drafting. . . didn't one of the Greek city-states do that?

I'm of the opinion that we should just write an open source "America Sim 2011" and just pressgang whoever gets the highest score on it. :p

You mean like the guy who has "beaten" Sim City 3000?

But whose inhabitants won't live past age 50? Because it wasn't efficient?

Well even that is a better skill set for running a country than you need under the current system. :p

Re: Dear GOP; Please pick this guy...
You may definitely be right. The example made earlier about SimCity 3000 is definitely interesting though, as I've played that game for a long time as well. Too bad the maximum is based on game-set rules and limitations rather than the real deal.

Let's also make sure they manage some intelligence and economical tests before they're allowed to run ;)
