UPDATE: I have decided to expand the purpose of this thread after talking with Black Wolf. it is now going to be a development thread for different types of containers in general, wheter it be Terran, Vasuadan or Shivan, and this is now a place where anyone who is working or has creadted a container they would like to release. I sure hope you guys participate, and that we can create a large variety of containers to expand the diverisity in the Free Space universe. also, a change on the first container, the version shown here is now a terran container, I am still messing wiht a shivan version however
also a container count as we proceed, note if you have a container to release, just post it on here

shivan containers.... I know nothing exciting, but goober has me at it to test me, and to help me develop some concept developing skills, and to add more variety to the layout(and if I play this out right some bigger bangs too )

Hmm, very interesting design. Kinda reminds me of a pill-bug (a.k.a rollie pollie, Armadillidiidae ), but as a cylinder.

Hey, think you can come with a modified version of this one that looks kinda like a rolled up pill bug?

I like the idea, but two tweaks, its a different sized contianer, and its for the dis.

ok update, I liked Z64555's idea, so I took it and mades some changes, tweaks and added my own ideas, so this is the first look   may add a turret, and kolenga wants me to make a variant of it as a countermeasure and I may do it

The first container is good but I think the ridges should be sharper and more jagged, like you could cut yourself on them.

I really like the second, rolled up one. Are you planing on texturing it? If not, I'd not mind giving out a go, though I've never textured anything Shivan before.First one I'm not so enamoured with - it just doesn't seem very Shivan, unfortunately.

For some reason, a black hexagonal/leathery texture comes to mind, with red highlights underneath the scales and along some of the edges. And the center area is just begging for a Reaverbot eye treatment.

ok so there are three important matters then before I go to sleep:
1) I still need to define the detailing on the pillbug somewhat, and then make the mesh a solid object. also a note, this thing is 300m in diameter, so its no small container, also the side docking ports are the main thing that needs modifing. oh and its very possible this may act amoung other things a gas container, so you may see these near rahu;s, and possibly even more explosive
2) with my first cargo container design, I think I do have a decent base, hwoever to make it more shivanish I will take Woolie Wool's advice and make it spikier, shouldnt be to hard, also it is designed for the mesphisto so its only25 odd ms
3) Black Wolf, I was, however I will take you up on that offer, as as of now I have been unable to finish any textures I start, so hopefuly you can do better. feel free to take artistic liberty, just remember the scale, and do you want me to uv it, and do you want an AO? and I will do the best I can

ok black wolf, I finished the container mesh, still need to mess with the uv, but due to the simple shape, shouldnt be too hard, for you or me
