Another joystick thread
So I'm having difficulty getting my old trusty Sidewinder Precision 2 to work properly ever since I switched over to windows 7. I can't seem to get the rudder control (Z axis) to work and it makes playing any thing damn near impossible with out getting dizzy. From what I've seen there are no windows 7 drivers for this thing so I am at the point asking has any one been able to get theirs to work or it is time for me to shop for a new one. I really haven't played Freespace much in years and it would be nice to play again and see all the new stuff. Especially the stuff I've had a hand in upgrading.

Have you tried DxDiag to see if DirectInput is functional?

Do a search for dxdiag, or use the Run window (if Windows 7 has that).

Never mind I fixed it, turns out I needed to bind the z axis from within freespace itself. Always before it had done that automatically, must be the universal driver windows 7 installs for it.
