HTL Mentu Installation
I'm trying to install the new HTL Mentu (with the added beam turret) into my FSO however the download comes with all the .dds .pof and .tbm files seperate and I'm not sure where to put them to make the game recognise the new model. When I go into the model viewer (F3) I can only see the old model with the MVPs enhancements.
I've tried using the HTL Arcadia download as an example for where to put the files and I've had a look around on the search option but couldn't find anything of use.
If anyone could give me a description of how to manually install a new ship model, or point me in the direction of one, that would be awesome!

pof goes in mediavps_3612/data/models, dds in mediavps_3612/data/maps, tbm in mediavps_3612/data/tables.

AWESOME! Thank You! I figure that .vp versions go straight into the mediavps_3612 folder?

Re: HTL Mentu Installation
Yup.

If you're starting to feel comfortable with mods structure, it is generally recommended to make a separate mod folder for all additional ships you might want to add on top of an official MVPs install. Would it be only to clear any kind of issues caused by those ships when trying to debug something.

Re: HTL Mentu Installation
In the case of using an extra mod folder for all models not currently in the MVPs I would then just have the launcher pointing to two mods, correct?
I'm fairly okay when it comes to campaign mod structure but I'm only starting out with model mods now. Felt quite proud a sec ago, I found a slight bug with the .tbm of the beam version Mentu and corrected it. Small victories eh.
Thanks for your help by the way :D

Re: HTL Mentu Installation
No, you don't need the launcher to point to two directories. Well, you can, but that's the pre-FSO way to do it. We have mod.ini for that now.

Just look at, I don't know, BP or like any mod that uses the MVPs 3.6.12 as an example.

Re: HTL Mentu Installation
Ahhh right, I've looked and you just put two different mods in the secondary list of the mod.ini. For example the BP2 mod.ini points to both BP1 and the MVPs. Cool, thanks once again!
